FAQS
What is the difference between a private party and a semi-private party?
Our private birthday parties are booked after Easter and until mid-September.  When we officially open for our Harvest Festival, we are able to offer semi-private parties.  Semi-private parties will still get the use of the venue with signage stating private events inside the barn but will also get the added benefit of our additional fall activities like mazes, human hamster wheel, rubber duck races and so much more. There may be more than 1 party in the barn depending on size of party. 

What do you offer with set up and decorations?
Our indoor barn venue has 8ft long rectangle banquet tables, folding chairs and trash cans.  We will have some generic farm related decorations.  You are welcome to utilize what is there or you can easily customize with your own decorations along with or instead.  Most parties will have about a half hour to decorate and set up.

What do I need to bring?
You should bring table coverings, paper products, party favors, food, and drinks as needed. 

What clean up do I need to do?
Take your presents and your decorations with you, we will take care of the trash.  You have about 30 minutes to finalize your party.  We are not responsible for items left behind, so please make sure you take everything with you that you want to keep. 

What if I have more 50 guests?

If the number of your guests exceeds our limit, please send Cathy a message (443-532-5761 text or call) If we can accommodate you, we will.  There will be an additional fee for larger parties. 

What if I need more than the allotted time?
3 hours is usually plenty of time to enjoy the farm, eat and open presents and have dessert. We have private parties scheduled in 3-hour time increments with 1-hour in-between for cleanup/set up.  We will try to accommodate any special requests with advance notice.  There will be an additional fee for extending the time, but this must be requested and approved in advance. If you feel you need someone to manage the time to keep the party progressing, we are happy to help.

Can I cancel if there is inclement weather?
Due to the unfortunate event of bad weather.  We understand that the rain to some can be very distressing, and we also understand that rescheduling with your guests can also be very difficult.  We recommend dressing for the weather and making the most of the day.  Kids can and WILL have just as much fun playing in the rain if you let them.  Growing up on a farm I know that well!  We will do our best to make sure your party is special! Deposits are not refundable, rescheduling maybe an option. 

Do you provide a party planner/manager?
We are happy to help you manage your party if requested.  You must ensure the supervision of all children.  Children will not be allowed to wander the farm without supervision this includes all areas of the farm.  We recommend having several adults to help if parents will be dropping kids off.   

Do you offer a refund if I cancel?
If you cancel within 2 weeks of your party, we can refund your deposit.  After that timeframe we will not be able to offer a refund of your deposit.

What are the farm rules?
All children must be always supervised by an adult.  All signs and rules posted must be followed.  All requests from staff must be followed.  You or your guests may be asked to leave if rules are broken.  Forfeiting your rental and money. 

Can kids really fish in the pond?

Yes, bring your own poles and bait.  This is a unique experience for kids. Our pond has Largemouth Bass and Bluegill.  Kids will especially love to catch bluegill.  I recommend a small hook with a worm and bobber.  If fishing for bass a lure like a rubber worm, crayfish or minnow or spinner usually gets a hit. This is a self-guided fishing experience.  

What are the pond rules?
Children are not allowed at the pond without supervision. 
Catch and release only. Do no harm to fish, ducks, or wildlife.  Respect our property. Please do not break up trees, throw large sticks in the pond or features.

Is your pond open to public fishing?
No, this is not open to the public. This is special feature we offer to our guests during our private party season.

Do I need a fishing license to fish?
No, we have obtained a Fishing Lake Permit through the Maryland Department of Natural Resources. 

What else do I need to know?
This is a working farm.  There may be dust, smells, and noise.  Not all areas of the farm are accessible to all people, please consider the ability of your guests before booking.  Please respect all rules for your safety and ours.
